Drawing with Tablets, PaintChat & JTablet
PaintChat works with a Java plugin called JTablet to access your graphics tablet's full potential. JTablet is currently only available for Windows machines, but there are plans for Linux and Mac ports.
JTablet is not yet compatible with Netscape 4.x. It should work with Internet Explorer 5+ and Netscape 6/Netscape 7/Mozilla with Java 2. For complete instructions on how to download, install and test JTablet, go to the following URL:

Engaging the PaintChat Pressure Tool for Tablets
To activate the JTablet features in PaintChat, simply click on the "P" (for Pressure-sensitivity) located at the top right corner of the canvas, on top of the right verticle scroll bar.
The PaintChat Pressure Tool Palette
After you click, the "Tablet" toolbox appears on the left side of the canvas with two pressure sensitivity options: alpha and size. Click on the small square button to the left of "alpha" to engage opacity sensitivity. Draw a line with your tablet pen. The harder you press on your pen, the darker the line.
Minimum and maximum sensitivity for both the alpha (opacity) and size options are controlled by two horizontal bars located directly below the applicable option. By default, the top bars (which control minimum sensitivity) are set to empty (light-colored); the bottom bars (which control maximum sensitivity) are set to full (dark-colored).
